Epiphany’s DNA

What makes this Congregation unique:

1. Epiphany is a church with an open door to all who desire to know Jesus Christ in a personal/eternal relationship. Come as you are and expect to be changed by a God who has a plan for your life.

2. Epiphany is a church that believes in giving permission to people to participate and initiate new ministries. We operate not according to standing committees but operate with teams of people who dream, design, and direct their God-born ministries.

3. Epiphany is a large church that is committed to maintaining a family feel. We seek to offer the benefits of a larger church, while offering ministries (small groups, care ministries, etc.) that intentionally foster a "family feel". We are comfortable using family language in describing our community life.

4. Epiphany is a large neighborhood church which encourages participation in small groups. We believe small group participation is the best way for you to come to feel you belong to this congregation, to connect with others and build relationships, to be supported and cared for, and to grow in God’s grace.

5. Epiphany exists for the benefits of its non-members. We exist for people in this community, region, and around the world who need to know the good news of God's love given to us in Jesus Christ. We seek to engage in risk taking mission and service to show our community and world that the Kingdom of God is now.

6. Epiphany is proud to be a United Methodist Congregation. Most of our members and friends come to us from other faith traditions or no faith tradition but we believe the United Methodist way of holding together personal and societal salvation, grace and good works, and the unceasing quest for growth in Jesus Christ is too good not to share.

7. Epiphany is a lay-driven church. Clergy and laity seek to partner in providing vibrant ministry inside and outside the church. Baptism is one’s authorization to share in Christ’s ministry through the Church.

9. Epiphany is a community of Christian practice. We encourage all of our members and friends to engage in the ancient and contemporary practices that open our hearts to God’s grace—prayer, study of Scripture, sacrificial giving, fasting, service to others, justice for the poor, and care for God’s creation. Following Christ is about embodying practices that show people what it means to live in love with God, neighbor, and God’s wonderful world.

10. Epiphany is grounded in preaching/teaching the Biblical truth of God's amazing grace-a grace that finds us, a grace that converts us, a grace that grows us, and finally a grace that perfects us in love for the eternal glory of the Triune God.
