I can't help but fantasize about the deep rooted connections between art and religious spaces. Creative spaces allow exploration of both self and community. They offer support, listening, and acceptance, all of which—in an ideal world—a church space offers as well. They are places to tell stories, places to receive input, places to fail, and places to try again. Places where those who feel as though they are on the margins, are offered a place of refuge.
And to make that claim comes with the acknowledgement that this is in fact, not the reality. This is in fact not what the majority of religious spaces look like today, but it’s certainly what we hope to work towards.
Here at Table 41 Productions we are committed to fostering voices of all kinds within our ever changing community – ensuring that no one is overlooked. More than simply offering productions, we commit ourselves to build understanding by partnering with a diverse collection of artists, organizations, and professionals in all aspects of our productions. The theatre should be a place that is accessible to everyone, regardless of economic circumstances. A welcoming place to engage in conversations surrounding all topics and ideas.
If you have any suggestions regarding conversations you’d like to see us have, please email us your thoughts!
To the left you will find copies of our past programs and shows here at Table 41 Productions. There's tons of good information in there including the countless volunteers that have committed their time to making these productions possible. We also have additional statements from some wonderful people who have joined alongside us in these different artistic journeys.
Take a look! See if the creativity sparks you... that's the real goal here.
